My First Cocoa Butter Cream – Natural Cosmetics Joy

Since I started to use cosmetics, I was fascinated by women able to make their own creams, lotions and oils for facial and body care. I always thought that whole process of making natural cosmetics is complicated to do. Usually it is, but it doesn’t have to be.

Few weeks ago, I decided to start making my own creams for facial care, suited for warm summer time and to make it as simple as possible. Ingredients I used were cold press sesame oil, cocoa butter and lavender essential oil. I’ll tell you how I made it, but if you decide to make it too, you’ll do it at your own risk, because I’m just beginner and mistakes are possible. :)

This is recipe of my first cocoa butter cream:

  • sterilize small glass jar
  • put two tablespoons of cold press sesame oil in the glass jar
  • put container with cocoa butter in another dish with warm water to melt it
  • put one tablespoon of melted cocoa butter in glass jar with sesame oil
  • mix cocoa butter and sesame oil together
  • put five drops of lavender essential oil in cocoa butter and sesame oil mix
  • put cocoa butter cream in refrigerator to tighten

That was it! I always apply this cream on wet face and gently massage it until it is soaked. If I find that my skin is still oily, I wipe it up. This cream is great for dry and normal skin. I just love it!
